Without Even a FLASHLIGHT?

Without Even a FLASHLIGHT?

So, last night I dreamed that I was trying to leave a parking lot.  I was driving a pickup truck.  No idea why.
Anyway, I witness an accident where someone runs over the parking lot security guard and kills him.
And because I witnessed the accident, not only do I have to give a full report of [...]

Today’s discussion — what to do on those special, glorious mornings when your PD symptoms aren’t quite so burdensome and you feel like you could conquer the world!

Raven Tries to Swallow an Egg… WHOLE!

Raven Tries to Swallow an Egg… WHOLE!

The idea for this came about innocently enough.  We were wondering what the dogs would do if someone tossed them a hard-boiled egg.  Would they think it’s a ball, or would they instantly recognize it as food and eat it.

Well, the great questions of science are always answered through experimentation.  So, that’s what we did.  [...]

Parky Bill’s Morning Cappuccino, 12-13-2009

I‘ve given a lot of thought to my Parkinson’s disease symptoms now that I’m nearly 10 years post-diagnosis, and compared to others — I’d say I’m doing… “not bad.”

Grab a cup of cappuccino and enjoy the video!

I'm All Computered Up!

I'm All Computered Up!

Got myself a new HP G60-530US Notebook laptop.  Here are the improvements over the old one…
350GB Hard Drive (over 150GB)
Pentium Processor over Athlon
4GB RAM (instead of 2 GB)
Slight improvement in processing speed — 2.10 GHz instead of 1.90 GHz
So far, so good.  The thing is moving at blazing speeds!
Me likee!
Here’s the old one.

Welcome to Computer Hunt 2009

Welcome to Computer Hunt 2009

Hopefully, today’s the day I retire this old Compaq Presario F700 with its 1.90 GHz processing speed, it’s 2 GB of RAM, and its 150 GB hard drive space.
I originally had my heart set on getting a desktop computer for a variety of reasons.  More guts for the bucks, bigger keyboards for my Parkie fingies, [...]

Forgetting to Remember My Pills

Forgetting to Remember My Pills

I swear, my brain is turning into a soft pudding.
Some time ago, I set my iPhone to alert me when it’s time to take a pill.  Now, unless I get up IMMEDIATELY and take the pill when the alarm goes off, I forget.
Yesterday, I blew off two pills.  I was sitting here at my keyboard, [...]

Steele Ducks Debate on Reid's Slavery "Comparison"

Steele Ducks Debate on Reid's Slavery "Comparison"

We discussed this briefly already.  Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made a tangental comparison between contemporary attitudes about slavery and today’s obstructionist Republican stance towards health care reform.
Instead of joining us on the right side of history, all the Republicans can come up with is, ’slow down, stop everything, let’s start over.’ If you think you’ve heard [...]

Big Improvement Over Yesterday

Big Improvement Over Yesterday

Yeah, today is a much better day — so far.  Actually as the day went on yesterday, I got better and better.
I’m still feeling kinda logy and disconnected, but nowhere near as lobotomized as I did yesterday morning.  I was able to perform my basic morning tasks with no real difficulties, except for a brief [...]

Taking a Sick Day

Taking a Sick Day

Here’s why.  (And be warned… this post makes reference to bodily functions.  If that kind of thing repels you, stop after the next paragraph.)
First thing, I’ve been getting kinda sloppy with “putting the caps back on things.”  The other day, a whole bottle of rum flavoring extract.  It spilled.  This morning, I made Gail’s coffee [...]

Tiger Faces Flood of Bimbos

Tiger Faces Flood of Bimbos

Bimbos are popping up all over!  One, a woman who denied having an affair with Tiger Woods will hold a news conference with her lawyer today, a day after the golfer apologized for his “transgressions.”  That lawyer?
Gloria Allred.  Shrill, feminist attorney, celebrity ambulance chaser, GLORIA ALLRED!
EEEEEEEEYAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
Others are releasing tapes of Tiger speaking on their voice mail.
Methinks [...]

Tiger, Tiger… Tsk, Tsk!

Tiger, Tiger… Tsk, Tsk!

Oh, Tiger.  How you disappoint!  We all looked up to you, Tiger.  Even those of us who can’t stand golf and think you’re basically an arrogant jerk.  Even those of us who wonder how in the hell someone can make a bazillion bucks for hitting a little white ball into a hole and for having [...]

My Brain Hit the Wall!

My Brain Hit the Wall!

Had another of those little uncomfortable moments today, much like one I had when I was at the store recently with Gail and I froze up — mentally and physically.
I had just downloaded a series of sound files from a colleague of mine and wanted to go from my work server to my home server to [...]

Beware the Recently-Yarded German Shepherd!

Beware the Recently-Yarded German Shepherd!

I was really exhausted last night.  That good kind of tired when bed feels like a soft, billowy cloud waiting to drift you off to happy sleepy-bye land!  I think I was out five minutes after my head hit the pillow.
Woke up once… saw that it was 4:45 am, scoffed at the idea of getting [...]
